WORKING VISA
This visa is issued to those persons undertaking technical services to private and public entities in Colombia. It is issued under the responsibility of the entity or company's applicant.
Also this visa would be issue to those executives, technicians and administrative personnel of a foreign public or private entities, with commercial or industrial interest.
A Temporary Ordinary Working Visa may be issued for a maximum period of two years.
Requirements:
Complete the Visa Application Form
Three (3) recent colour photos (3x4 cm).
Valid passport for at least two years
Proof of the legal existence of the company: Certificate of Incorparation of the company name or Certificate from the Chamber of Commerce. Date of issued not more than 3 months.
Certificate of academic or professional I.D., or qualifications or work experience, duly legalized by the authorities where was issued.
Original and copy of the contract duly signed by both parties and legalized.* The contract must include a clause stating the obligation of the employer to defray all return expenses of applicant and family at the termination of the contract or when the visa could be cancelled.
The company must provide the Original Certificate by the Minister of Social Security and Employment stating that the foreigner (proper name) joining the company will not alter the proportion between foreigners and nationals employees, according with the Colombian labor legislation. If the applicant is an Engineer or develop any technical profession such as Geologist, Architecture must provide the authorization to work in Colombia, issued by the National Engineering Board, "Consejo Profesional Nacional de Ingeniería y sus Profesiones Auxiliares". Letter from the employer requesting the visa and also confirming the obligation of the employer to defray all return expenses of applicant and family at the termination of the contract or when the visa could be cancelled.
This type of visa can be granted to the spouse and direct dependents who will not be allowed to engage in gainful activities, in this case it is indispensable to present the Marriage and birth certificates and present also the Police Certificate.
* The signature of the legal representative in Colombia must be legalized by a Public Notary, and the applicant must present in person at the Consulate Office to legalize the signature.
